Do not confuse survival with healing.
All the clinical names that start to feel like family you never wanted. They keep me alive, and for that I can’t say they’re useless. They carried me through nights I wouldn’t have survived otherwise, but survival isn’t the same as living.
The truth is, these medications keep me standing while quietly burying parts of me I’ll never get back. They soften the edges of my mind until I feel nothing sharp, nothing urgent — not even myself.
They muffle every impulse, every instinct, and leave me staring at the world through a thick sheet of glass.
I’m not saying they don’t help. They do. They’ve saved me. But there’s a cost. And I want to be honest about that cost. Don’t mistake survival for healing. Being alive doesn’t always mean you’re living. Sometimes it just means you’re numb enough to go on.
This design is a record of that. A reminder that what keeps us breathing isn’t always what keeps us whole.
